In more than 15 years there has been no martial arts event as big as this, in the DC metro area.

The seminars were held at  US Tigers -  6916 Piedmont Center Plaza Gainesville, VA 20155 own by Taekwondo Olympic Coach Denis Kim, were the So Won Sool Hapkido Dojang has made its home for the past three (3) years.

Dojunim was brought to our area by his long time students Ramfis L. Marquez, PhD, LPC, senior Master and founder of the So Won Sool Hapkido Dojang. During his visit Dojunim awarded master Marquez the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt Senior Sin Moo Master. Thus, making Master Marquez not only the highest ranking Hispanic Hapkido Master and the only one with such a rank awarded directly from the hands of the founder of Hapkido.

Master Marquez now is amongst the few elite US Hapkido masters to hold such a high rank in the eclectic art, awarded by the hands of Its founder. During his visit the founder stated; THE SO WON SOOL HAPKIDO DOJANG IS THE NUMBER ONE (1) HAPKIDO SCHOOL IN THE METRO AREA!

Hapkido masters and students from all over the metropolitan area were in attendance. Accompanying Dojunim from Washington State was Master and Alternative Medicine Doctor Sean Bradley, known by many as Dojunim shadow. Other big hapkido names that join us in this great event were Grand Master Thomas Holcomb, representative of the Korean Hapkido Federation and direct student of one of Dojunim Ji Han Jae’s top student in Korea Grand Master Sung Book Bae (featured in the TV show fight quest).

Also in attendance was Senior Sin Moo master and friend to Master Marquez, Mr. Michael McCarty, who has started ruing a small Sin Moo Hapkido Dojang through parks and recreation in Fairfax County. The So Won Sool brother school own and operated by Master Larry Nisenoff a student of the first American to held a Hapkido Black Belt, Grand Master  J. R. West, also join us with his black belts.

All in attendance had the opportunity to learn from one of the most influential man in modern martial arts history. This was as many have remarked an unforgettable and a once in a life time two days 16 hour seminar. Certificate of participation were provided to all present from the hands of and with the signature of  Dojunim Ji Han Jae himself. We are all looking forward to bringing Dojunim back to the area and are planning to make this event a once a year highlight as long as Dojunim continues to lead the Sin Moo Hapkido brother hood in the United States.
