Q: How long does it take to attain black belt status?
A: Achieving a Black Belt should be your goal but not your focus, if you are worried about how long it will take So Won Sool Hapkido is not for you. Many schools now days promote unskilled, poorly trained students with one or two years of training. Our training focuses on training YOU to survive an aggression of one or multiple attackers. If that scenario ever occurs your belt won’t save you. Come and train, work hard, focus on perfecting your technique, be motivated and inquisitive. We assure you that when you get the Black Belt you will have the skills to take care of yourself and protect your love ones. Having said that if you really want to know traditionally a properly trained black belt has at least 4 to 6 years of training under his/her belt prior to been awarded a 1st Degree Black Belt. Still this time can be less or more depending on your dedication, focus and hard work.
